Whether you’re a coach setting up a new class or an athlete joining one, getting started only takes a few minutes. Follow this guide to join your gym and configure your heart rate monitor correctly.

For Coaches: Create a Join Code

To allow members to join your Group Fitness team without manually approving each request:

  1. Log in to the SELFLOOPS website.
  2. Open Edit team
  3. Enter a Join code
  4. Enable Auto join (without approval) if you want members using the code to be automatically added to your team.
  5. Save your changes.

When Auto join is enabled, members simply enter the Join code in the SELFLOOPS Spark app and immediately become part of your team.

For Athletes: Join Your Gym

  1. Install the SELFLOOPS Spark app on your iPhone or Android phone.
  2. Sign in or create your account.
  3. Select Join Team.
  4. Enter the Join code provided by your coach.
  5. If Auto Join is enabled, you’ll immediately become a member of the team.

Once you’ve joined the team, it’s time to add your heart rate monitor.

Add Your Heart Rate Monitor

From the SELFLOOPS Spark app, tap Add Device and select your device type.

Chest Strap or Arm Band (ANT+)

Choose Chest strap / arm band.

Simply enter the ANT+ Device ID printed on the heart rate monitor.

Most ANT+ heart rate monitors have the ANT+ ID printed directly on the sensor.

Garmin Heart Rate Monitors

Some newer Garmin heart rate monitors do not print the ANT+ ID on the device.

There are two ways to broadcast heart rate:

Option 1 (Recommended)

Download it from here

Our app displays the ANT+ ID that you need to enter in SELFLOOPS Spark.

Option 2

Enable Garmin’s built-in Broadcast Heart Rate feature.

Wear OS Smartwatch

Choose Wear OS watch.

No device ID is required.

Install the SELFLOOPS Spark app on your Android phone and the SELFLOOPS Spark for Wear OS app from Google Play.

Once paired, your watch will automatically transmit heart rate during your workout.

Whoop and Other Bluetooth Wearables

This option also works with devices such as:

  • Whoop
  • Fitbit
  • Other Bluetooth heart rate wearables not included in the cases above.

Choose Whoop or Other Bluetooth wearable.

Then:

  1. Enable Blueotooth heart rate broadcasting, if required
  2. Pair your wearable with the SELFLOOPS Spark smartphone app.
  3. Select Group Fitness as your activity.
  4. Spark will broadcast your heart rate and automatically send it to the Group Fitness session.

Ready to Train!

Once your device has been configured, simply join your Group Fitness session and your heart rate will appear automatically on the studio screen.

If you experience any issues, contact your coach or visit the SELFLOOPS Support Center for additional troubleshooting guides.
